"Rodeo Farm" Fiberglass Painted Boot Sculpture

STATUS: SOLD $700
Lauren Sancia Wells is one of the youngest artists ever to be commissioned by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. This petite 7-year old is already a creative giant, and holds a surprising list of creative accomplishments. Lauren worked enthusiastically to complete her creative efforts on her boot, working for hours in 40 degree temperatures and wearing 2-3 layers of clothing, yet capturing the true spirit of the Rodeo from the eyes of a 7-year old. Viewers have been enjoying her painted boot that was recently on display near the Sam Houston Memorial in the museum district.

Painting for Ghana

STATUS: SOLD
Lauren's Painting of a Mermaid was contributed to the Yes Prep School's Silent "Art In Action" Charity Benefit Auction in Houston on May 11, 2007. The proceeds will support 15 Texas high school students and teachers participating in Peace Corps projects in West Africa this summer. The Peace Corps has invited them to the villages of Wamfie and Kranka, Ghana. They will help build a community center for youth, many of whom suffer from or have lost parents to AIDS. They will help build homes, create sustainable alternative livelihood projects, and conduct health and HIV/AIDS prevention classes. www.yesprep.org
